GSE Mechanic

Alaska Central Express, Inc. located at Ted Stevens Int’l Airport in Anchorage Alaska has an opening for a full-time GSE Mechanic. Starting pay $25.00 per hour plus benefits. Must be flexible to work any shift, weekdays, weekends, holidays as required. This position requires pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, a valid drivers’ license from the state of Alaska, and a background check. Does This Sound Like You? Adopts safety as the top priority every day, every time, without exception Promotes positive, professional team attitudes and behavior throughout the ACE system Reliable and punctual Able to work any shift including nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays as required Monitors Company communications regularly, including email, text, and voicemail Complies with all Company policies and procedures, OSHA requirements, Federal, State, and local laws Completes all assigned training in a timely manner Reports all safety concerns or occurrences using the ACE SMS reporting process as soon as it is safe to do so Minimum Requirements to Apply: At least 21 years old Possesses personal hand tool set (large tools provided) Current Alaska driver’s license (applicants must possess AK driver’s license prior to beginning employment) Legally authorized to work in the US Read, write, speak English fluently Able to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screening Able to pass pre-employment Federal background checks with no disqualifying results that would prevent you from obtaining an airport SIDA badge Physical Requirements: Lifting and carrying heavy loads: Must be able to frequently lift and move items often weighing over 70 pounds, often in awkward positions or confined spaces Operating heavy machinery: Frequent use of forklifts, conveyors, and other equipment Standing and walking: Extended periods on the ground or moving between loading areas and facilities Working in extreme conditions: Exposure to all weather — hot, cold, rain, snow, wind Repetitive and strenuous tasks: Repeated lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning heavy items Vision and hearing: Must be able to see clearly in low-light or high-noise environments and follow safety instructions accurately Work With Us Because We Offer: Active, dynamic work – you will never have to sit at a desk!
