Sr Supply Planner

Job Title: Senior Supply Planner Location: Hershey, PA Preferred Summary The primary purpose of a Senior Supply Planner is to develop and implement a master production schedule and inventory management strategy to support customer service goals and achieve the company's financial objectives. Major Duties and Responsibilities Master Planning & Fulfillment System Set Up – Develop and maintain system table settings, calendars and attributes to create a constrained rough‑cut master planning schedule. Master Production Scheduling – Create a feasible rough‑cut 18‑month production schedule for finished goods and dependent demand for SKUs, ensuring alignment with sales goals, inventory financial targets, and minimization of product age and obsolescence. Adjust plans regularly and oversee transformation into shift‑level plans through communication with Operation Planners. Product Supply Coordination – Use exception management to maintain constant and sufficient product supply. Analyze manufacturing capacity needs, review PCM processes for feasibility, and communicate issues to internal customers. Incorporate new items, manage shortages, and collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, and other stakeholders. Inventory Management – Keep finished‑good and intermediate inventory targets for assigned items. Manage item versions for packaging changes, investigate outlier inventory changes, and support regional, resource, and seasonal build strategies using JDA. Rationalize safety stock and minimize aged product. ATP Support / Customer Service – Maintain accurate production information in JDA/SAP to ensure ATP availability. Resolve ATP issues and support customer service targets. Miscellaneous Planning Duties – Complete annual planning activities, set up Bills of Materials for dependent demand items, conduct operational analysis, and support continuous improvement activities within supply planning and strategic supply chain goals. Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Proven knowledge of Supply Chain Management Principles Strong knowledge of Supply Planning Systems SAP experience preferred Understanding of forecasting and its impact on supply planning Strong teamwork skills, including mentorship and training abilities Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with all levels in various departments Strong analytical, problem‑solving and mathematical skills – capable of solving problems independently Proficient PC skills (Microsoft Office suite) Education Bachelor's degree in Business Logistics, Business, Engineering or related field, preferably emphasizing Logistics or Supply Chain Management. APICS or CPIM certification is helpful. Experience Minimum of 2–3 years of progressive, related experience in production scheduling, inventory management, or supply/operations planning.
