Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) Specialist, Mobile

Job Description The American Red Cross is seeking a Mobile SAF Specialist at Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico. The role involves managing and administering American Red Cross services for U.S. military members, veterans, and their families. The position requires meeting strict medical and security clearances before employment and includes worldwide deployment as a condition of employment. Key Responsibilities Manage and administer delivery of American Red Cross services to meet needs of military members, veterans, and families. Support delivery of International Services programs and services. Provide support, development, and/or leadership guidance to volunteers. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Build and maintain relationships with military leadership, key organizations, and community leaders. Develop and implement local needs assessment and volunteer programs. Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer staff for SAF/IS U.S. programs. Coordinate services to military treatment facilities and VA hospitals through rehabilitation programs, material assistance, resiliency training, and morale items. Support emergency communications center and local information for disaster response. Develop outreach strategies to promote International Services U.S. programs. Manage budgets and expenditures, monitor and report program outcomes, and recommend continuous improvement. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, human resources management, community organization, social or health sciences, or related field required; or related equivalent experience. Minimum of five years related experience in program management or related field required. Strong computer skills. Public speaking and written communication skills required. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well individually or in a team. Ability to balance multiple priorities essential. Familiarity with military culture, regulations, and protocol strongly desired. Experience with American Red Cross programs and services strongly desired. Work Conditions Ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; may need to stand, walk, and move light to medium weights up to 20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity and visual acuity. May involve sitting for long periods, driving a vehicle, and working under challenging conditions. May be on 24-hour call during major disaster periods. Mobility Requirements U.S. citizenship required; must obtain secret security clearance and no-fee U.S. passport. Worldwide mobility condition of employment and essential function. Must accept work assignments globally, including conflict areas. Must meet strict medical and physical requirements, including required immunizations. May be required wearing military uniforms and living in harsh environments.
