Accountant

Our client, a manufacturing organization, is seeking an Interim Accountant – Costing and General Accounting to join their team. As an Interim Accountant – Costing and General Accounting, you will be part of the Accounting and Finance Department supporting the Accounting, Operations, and Cross-Functional Project Teams during a key ERP implementation. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent collaboration abilities. Job Title Interim Accountant – Costing and General Accounting Location Marengo, IL (McHenry County, IL) – Hybrid (3 days onsite per week) Pay Range $30‑45 per hour What’s the Job? Perform general ledger account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting. Prepare monthly journal entries, analyze financial data, and support month‑end close activities. Conduct variance analysis, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions. Assist with product costing activities, including tracking production costs, updating standard costs, and analyzing cost variances. Participate in cross‑functional initiatives, including ERP implementation support, product launches, and cost improvement projects. What’s Needed? Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of cost accounting concepts, including standard costing and variance analysis. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs. Experience working with ERP systems and strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
