Location: USA – Lancaster, Lyndon B Johnson Fwy Division: Solutions Job Title: Team Lead, Operations – LBJ FWY Type: Full Time Position Summary The Team Lead has general responsibility for coordinating and overseeing all operational activities assigned to them daily. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Operations Lead is responsible for oversight of the associates dedicated to the warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product in their area in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives. Associates are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety, and quality, and to comply with all corporate and site‑specific policies. Training Responsibilities Mentor and train new and existing associates in specific distribution activities to help achieve established customer demands. Train associates on current Standard Operating Procedures, including shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control. Assist in forklift operation and certification for new and existing associates. Shipping/Receiving Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments, order or stacking of product, and picking and staging of outbound shipments for maximum productivity. Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring all products are properly counted. Efficiently and accurately load orders according to the appropriate doors and trailers. Process all shipping/receiving/picking functions as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures. Research discrepancies that may occur in the shipping and receiving process. Customer Service Maintain a professional appearance and communication style at all times. Communicate with customers telephonically, electronically, or in person as needed. Prepare required activity reports accurately and efficiently for site management. Quality Control Responsibilities Use appropriate documentation to ensure all product and/or orders are received or shipped correctly and accurately picked. Verify products and/or orders meet quality standards, reporting any damages or discrepancies; stack, package, shrink‑wrap, and label product as required. Process all quality control functions as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures. Report inconsistencies and/or problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager. Participate in quality meetings. Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance Understand and comply with relevant ISO standards that impact this position. Execute all safety protocols and promote a safe work environment. Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and assist in security of the warehouse. Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site‑specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards. Participate in safety meetings. Labor Management Direct the operations of the warehouse work team to achieve prescribed objectives. Assist associates and temporary labor in completing productivity sheets and accurately capturing production and payroll hours. Assist the Supervisor in maintaining a workforce consistent with productivity goals. Participate in establishing and implementing work schedules. Ensure schedules are correctly implemented and jobs are assigned and completed properly. Assist the Operations Supervisor in ensuring that all associates handle products according to all prescribed quality procedures and guidelines. Responsibility and Authority Participate in department meetings. Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non‑conformities related to product, process, and quality system; identify and record problems; recommend solutions through designated channels. Ensure all non‑conformities are immediately reported to the Quality Department. Equipment Operation Operate a variety of equipment including sit‑down, stand‑up, reach truck, sweeper scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker, AisleMaster, and pallet jack. Maintain and report equipment problems, performing daily inspections and minor maintenance. Operate all equipment safely and efficiently, following prescribed work methods. Maintain an active forklift certification. Maintenance Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned. Other Duties Perform other clerical and administrative tasks as guided by site management, such as answering telephones, scheduling appointments, greeting visitors, and record keeping. Willing to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed. Perform any other duties as assigned. Minimum Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. At least 1 year of experience working in logistics/distribution or a related environment. Ability to operate MHE. Capability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures ranging from mild to moderate. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Basic computer skills; RF scanner use; WMS functions. English (reading, writing, verbal). Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for inventory verification and related tasks. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to complete tasks timely. Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision. Effective communication with all organizational levels. Adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced work environment. Preferred Qualifications 2‑4 years experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment. 2‑4 years proven forklift experience. Current or prior MHE certification. Physical Demands Occasionally handles hand and finger manipulation, sitting, and product handling; frequently involves bending; constantly walking and standing; lifts and carries 21‑50 pounds; reaches above shoulder, outward, squats, or kneels. Work Environment Rare exposure to fumes or airborne particles; chemical exposure is minimal; noise level is usually low to moderate.
