Payroll Manager

Magee Resource Group has partnered with a growing not-for-profit health system in a growing community in the Southeast, to recruit a Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations in a complex, multi-site setting. This is a high-impact leadership role overseeing payroll for ~4,000+ employees across hospital, clinics, and additional facilities. The Payroll Manager will play a critical role in optimizing systems, strengthening processes, and leading a team while partnering closely with HR leadership on strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day payroll operations for a large, multi-entity healthcare system Oversee and develop a team of payroll professionals Ensure accurate, timely payroll processing including full-cycle (end-to-end) execution Conduct audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements Drive process improvements and identify opportunities to streamline workflows Partner with HR, finance, and IT to enhance payroll system functionality (UKG/Kronos) Lead system optimization efforts, upgrades, and new feature adoption Manage payroll calendar, escalations, and complex employee pay issues Support reporting and analytics to identify trends and improve labor cost efficiency Qualifications 7+ years of payroll experience, including end-to-end payroll processing 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience Experience in large, complex organizations (500+ employees; 1,000+ preferred) Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, HR, or related field (equiv. combination of education and relevant payroll experience may be considered in lieu of) Strong knowledge of payroll systems, implementations, system optimization Demonstrated ability to lead projects and drive process improvements Strong analytical, auditing, and problem-solving skills Certified Payroll Professional preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr Magee Resource Group
