System Analyst

Salary: $72,000 - 112,000 per year

Requirements:

14+ years of experience in the field. 5+ years of proficiency with ADO. Bachelors degree. Proven experience applying complex IT industry concepts, practices, and procedures. Advanced experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Ability to work independently and collaborate with management and stakeholders. Ability to analyze systems and procedures, write and revise standards and procedures, communicate effectively, and train others. Knowledge of computer systems and their capabilities and limitations; IT equipment; programming languages; computer hardware and software; operating systems; program code; and techniques for designing non-automated systems. Preferred: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university, generally with major coursework in computer science, computer information systems, or management information systems. Responsibilities:

Analyze business objectives, operational challenges, user requirements, and existing procedures to identify opportunities for automation and system improvement. Assess alternative solutions and conduct studies and cost-benefit analyses to inform system-related decisions. Engage with organizational stakeholders to understand current procedures, identify problems, and document input, output, data summarization, and reporting needs. Describe user needs, program functions, and system requirements in detail, including steps for developing or modifying computer programs. Review system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling constraints to determine whether requested programs or changes are feasible. Evaluate existing information-processing systems and identify ways to improve effectiveness, production, and specifications. Prepare technical specifications covering equipment operations, computer program functions, and related personnel processes. Conduct studies to support information systems that address current and anticipated business needs. Create technical reports, memoranda, instructional manuals, and other system-development documentation. Support system upgrades, error correction, and ongoing maintenance after implementation. Help resolve technical and programming-related issues in accordance with project specifications. Provide technical assistance for application and hardware issues, and support information sharing with external entities in a customer service environment. Coordinate and plan the effective use of management information systems, including operational, technical, installation, and maintenance needs. Prepare charts, diagrams, tables, flowcharts, and detailed computer-program input/output record formats. Help define problems, assess possible approaches, and develop effective solutions. Support the design, development, and maintenance of computer applications. Provide support and recommendations for IT processes involving software technology planning, development, implementation, system security, and interfaces.
