About the Position

The facility handles various cardio and thoracic surgeries including CABG, TAVR, valve replacements, and heart transplants. An average of 10 cases will be performed daily. The surgical team consists of two RN's per case, with travelers primarily functioning as Circulators. Patient ratios are 1:1. Required certifications include BLS for all roles, with additional specific certifications preferred. Experience in CVOR cases such as lobectomy, hernia repair, generator exchanges, lead extractions, and fem-pop bypass is necessary. Anesthesia techs should know how to operate basic equipment including blood gas machines and ultrasound. All staff must document pain levels before and after administering medications, ensuring they comply with pain management protocols. This role includes weekend rotations and on-call duties once per month, along with holiday expectations for on-call availability. Charting is done through specific electronic systems, and support will be provided by a supervisor and manager during shifts.
