Electronics Technician Maintenance III

Job Summary SOLVERE is seeking Inertial Electronics Technicians III. The Technician performs depot‑level troubleshooting and repairs on circuit cards, modules, and assemblies used in U.S. Navy Navigation systems. This person plays a critical role in keeping high‑value electronic systems operational by diagnosing and repairing inertial systems such as: AN/WSN‑2/2A, AN/WSN‑5, MK‑27 Gyro, MK‑39 Gyro, and associated inertial sensors. Responsibilities Perform depot‑level troubleshooting and corrective maintenance on legacy inertial navigation systems, including AN/WSN‑5 INS, along with AN/WSN‑2/2A, MK‑27, and MK‑39 gyrocompasses. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electronic components in accordance with NAVSEA and DoD technical manuals. Apply problem‑solving and critical thinking to troubleshoot complex issues. Communicate and collaborate with engineers and customers. Familiarity with U.S. Navy maintenance procedures, Navy drawings, and MIL‑STD documentation preferred. Experience with AN/WSN‑7 or AN/WSN‑7A RLGN is preferred. Qualifications Education High School diploma or GED. Formal electronics training from a Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or a four‑year electronics apprentice program. Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors. Experience Six (6) years of practical experience in electronics repair, maintenance, installation, and checkout. One (1) year of experience in supervision and shop practices. Two (2) years of practical experience in electronics repair and installation. Specific Experience Required (PWS Section 5.4.2(h) — no deviations permitted): Three (3) years of hands‑on experience working directly with U.S. Navy Navigation Systems (e.g., AN/WSN‑5 INS, AN/WSN‑7/7A Ring Laser Gyro Navigator, AN/WSN‑12 INS‑R, or equivalent inertial/gyrocompass systems). Experience may be achieved simultaneously. All SOLVERE employees must hold U.S. citizenship. Travel Quarterly (approximately 4 times a year) Clearance Secret Work Environment & Physical Demands This position operates in standard office, assembly laboratory, and aboard vessel/shipyard environments. Standard offices and laboratories involve sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard, and viewing computer screens. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings is required. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting. In shipyards and aboard vessels, significant use of hands to operate equipment and tools is required along with significant lifting of under 40 lbs.; occasional lifting over 40 lbs. Tasks include sitting, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching, lying prone, and squatting daily. Work is performed in highly variable conditions with seasonal variations in weather and temperature. Frequent work in confined spaces may occur. Dust, noise, and constant activity associated with materials handling, welding, and overhead crane/hoist operations are common.
