We’re looking for our first in-house accounting leader — someone equally comfortable setting the strategic roadmap and rolling up their sleeves to get the work done. You’ll partner with our outsourced accounting firm (which is excellent) for the first ~3-6 months, while building the foundation for a scalable accounting function.

This is a rare opportunity to own the accounting org from day one, shape best practices, and ensure our financial systems can support rapid growth.

Why this role matters

We’ve reached the point where outsourced help isn’t enough — we need an internal leader to own accounting strategy, technical compliance, and operational execution. Your expertise will ensure we close the books accurately, support strategic decision-making, and stay ahead of scaling challenges.

What you’ll do

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, payroll, revenue recognition, and tax compliance, with the support of our outsourced accountants
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
• Develop and execute the roadmap for scaling our accounting team and processes
• Implement controls, policies, and systems that balance speed and accuracy
• Implement AI-powered accounting systems to minimize manual processes and scale efficiently, including a migration off Quickbooks
• Collaborate with leadership on financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
• Support revenue operations and pricing strategies for a usage-based, enterprise sales model
• Own tax compliance (domestic and international, direct and indirect)
• Ensure GAAP compliance and readiness for potential audits

What we’re looking for

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in senior accounting roles
• Proven track record building scalable accounting processes in high-growth environments (ideally $100M+ ARR)
• Prior experience in a B2B SaaS environment, with a deep understanding of subscription billing, revenue recognition (ASC 606), sales cycles, and key SaaS metrics.
• Familiarity with usage-based pricing
• Familiarity with infrastructure/platform businesses
• Strong proficiency in NetSuite and Quickbooks. You will lead an ERP migration off Quickbooks to a modern ERP
• AI/automation-first mindset - proven experience implementing accounting automation and AI tools
• Strong technical accounting background
• Demonstrated success hiring and managing a high performing accounting team
• Low ego and highly hands-on, comfortable doing the work while building the function
• Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to independently prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
• Comfortable establishing processes and systems in a dynamic, high-growth environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• CPA required
• Experience with international entities preferred

Compensation

• $180,000 - $250,000 + equity + comprehensive benefits package
