Equipment Operator

A leader in industrial heat-treating and surface treating in Monroe, MI is looking for an equipment operator to add to their ranks. As a team member, you’ll play a key role in supporting daily operations in a manufacturing environment that processes metal parts to enhance strength and durability. You’ll work alongside equipment operators and technicians to help fulfill customer orders efficiently while maintaining high quality and safety standards. Position will be temp-to-hire, with a flexible 1st shift schedule starting at $17-18/hr based on experience.

Key responsibilities include:

• Follow detailed work orders and process instructions to support production flow.
• Assist in fixturing, masking, cleaning, loading, and unloading parts before and after heat-treat processes.
• Help prepare parts and materials for processing and shipment, including degreasing and inspection.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas to support efficient operations.
• Provide general labor support such as material handling, lifting, and basic shop duties.
• Cooperate with lead operators and technicians to meet production goals and quality requirements.
• Operate basic shop equipment safely (training provided), potentially including fork trucks and overhead cranes when trained/certified.

Basic qualifications include:

• Forklift experience (required) as well as overhead crane (preferred, but not required).
• High school diploma or GED (or working toward completion) preferred.
• Interest in industrial manufacturing, team collaboration, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
• Comfortable standing, walking, and performing physical tasks throughout a shift.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a safety-first mindset.
• Good attention to detail and a willingness to support others in a fast-paced shop environment.
