Whether you're turning a wrench, managing operations, or supporting customers, you play a vital role in powering industries that moves the world forward.Location: Myersville, MarylandShift: 1stStarting Compensation Range: $28.53 -$41.32 per hourWhat You Will Do:Pick up and deliver all products in an accurate, safe and prompt manner, Secure cargo for transport as outlined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety standards using chains/binders to conform with local, state and federal regulationsLoad and unload truck in most efficient manner, ensuring orders match manifestsConduct pre/post/periodic trip inspections to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good operating order at all timesPerform basic truck maintenance, including adding oil, fuel or fluids, and minor repairsMaintain interior and exterior of truck to reflect professional appearanceMaintain daily hours and service log according to state and federal regulationsDemonstrate and instruct customer on the proper operation of equipmentTrain drivers, as neededOperate a forklift, as neededPerform other related duties as assignedWhat We're Looking For:Minimum of two years of CDL driving experience, including heavy-haul and tractor/lowboy drivingValid CDL A licensure, requiredExcellent driving recordHigh school diploma or equivalent, preferredThorough knowledge of DOT and Company safety standards and regulationsCapable of operating a 5 or 6 axle configuration truckAbility to conduct inspections of truck to ensure it is in good working orderAbility to secure cargo for transport using chains and/or binders to conform with local, state and federal regulationsMechanical aptitude with ability to perform basic truck maintenance tasksKnowledge of rental, construction, and generator equipmentMust be able to operate, demonstrate and instruct proper equipment operationAbility to operate a forkliftWillingness to work additional hours as required by job and customer demandWhat Success Looks Like In This Role:Excellent customer service skillsEffective communication skillsInteracting professionally with customers and all levels of personnel within organizationUnderstanding and explaining problems and concerns related to deliveriesWorking in coordination with team to achieve Continuous Improvement goals and objectivesPromoting a positive customer experienceUpholding the Core Values of Integrity, Commitment, Excellence and Teamwork by embracing The Carter WayPhysical Requirements:Frequently sitting for extended periods of timeRegularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hearFrequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move and/or lift up to 75 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusCompetitive Compensation and Benefits:Health, dental and vision insurancePaid time off401(k), $0.75 to $1.25 match up to 6%Life and disability insuranceIn-house training instructors/programsTuition reimbursementEmployee referral bonus programTool allowances and tool loansDiscounts on cellular phone service, computers, and vehiclesOpportunities for overtimeShift differential (if applicable)You'll gain access to real learning, real advancement, and a real future in a company that's reshaping what it means to lead in our industry.
