In this role, you will provide direct nursing care to a pediatric population spanning newborns, infants, school-age children, adolescents, and young adults in a fast-paced, community-based acute care setting. Patients will present with a range of conditions including acute and chronic illnesses, various injuries, and post-surgical recovery. The ideal candidate is a skilled, adaptable nurse who is comfortable delivering compassionate, family-centered care across all pediatric age groups. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients across all age groups — newborns through young adults — presenting with acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and post-surgical conditions Perform systematic patient assessments and monitor patient conditions, identifying and responding to changes in status Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and monitor for therapeutic response and adverse effects Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses in the electronic medical record (EMR) Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and multidisciplinary care teams to coordinate safe, effective patient care Educate patients and families on diagnoses, care plans, medications, and discharge instructions in a clear and age-appropriate manner Support patient and family emotional needs through compassionate communication and family-centered care principles Maintain a safe care environment in compliance with infection control, regulatory, and unit safety standards Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical and/or Pediatric nursing experience in a community-based acute care hospital Current AHA BLS and PALS certification Current MAB or CPI certification LA City Fire and Life Safety card (must be LA City) LA County Employee Health Clearance must be completed prior to assignment start date Must be fully committed to completing an 8-week assignment Must be able to pass required background checks and drug screening Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical and/or Pediatric nursing experience in a community-based acute care hospital Current AHA BLS and PALS certification Current MAB or CPI certification LA City Fire and Life Safety card (must be LA City) LA County Employee Health Clearance must be completed prior to assignment start date Must be fully committed to completing an 8-week assignment Must be able to pass required background checks and drug screening
