Support students and educators in a dynamic school environment as a Paraprofessional in a well-established Missouri school district. This per diem position offers flexible workdays ranging from 1 to 5 days per week, providing coverage for internal call outs across multiple elementary, middle, and high schools, primarily supporting special education classrooms with behavioral needs.

Location: Lees Summit, MO (serving 33 schools primarily elementary)

Position Highlights:

• Flexible scheduling options catering to elementary (8:30 AM–4:00 PM or 9:00 AM–4:30 PM), middle (7:00 AM–2:30 PM), and high school hours (7:30 AM–3:00 PM).
• Engage in meaningful work supporting students individually (1:1) or within classroom settings.
• Assist students with behavioral intervention plans (BIPs), including toileting and other care tasks.
• Work assignments are coordinated through a mobile app for seamless access to daily call outs and scheduling.
• Per diem status with pay based on hours worked.

Qualifications:

• Active Substitute or Paraprofessional certification with Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) prior to starting.
• Experience working in school settings, particularly with students who have behavioral needs.
• Willingness to complete district-specific fingerprinting requirements.
• Comfortable supporting varied student needs in special education environments.

Responsibilities:

• Provide support to students with disabilities in accordance with individual behavior plans.
• Assist teachers in the classroom and during one-on-one sessions.
• Respond promptly to daily call outs via the scheduling app to ensure consistent coverage.
• Maintain a positive, patient, and flexible approach while supporting students’ educational and behavioral goals.
