About the Role:

Toms River Yacht Club is looking for a friendly and energetic part-time Order Taker/Light Cook to join our team in Toms River, NJ! This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fun, waterfront club environment where great food and great people come together. If you love interacting with guests and don't mind getting your hands a little busy in the kitchen, we want to hear from you!

  Position runs now through Labor Day – the perfect opportunity to earn extra income for the rest of the summer! Must be over 18 years old. Weekends are a must 

Responsibilities:

• Take food and beverage orders accurately from club members and guests
• Perform light cooking duties including preparing simple menu items and snacks
• Deliver orders and ensure guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including kitchen and front-of-house spaces
• Assist with restocking supplies and keeping the kitchen prepped and ready for service
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines

Requirements:

• Previous experience in food service, order taking, or light food preparation preferred
• Basic cooking skills and comfort working in a kitchen environment
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
• Friendly, reliable, and punctual with a team-player attitude
• Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
• Food handler certification or willingness to obtain one a plus
