Requirements 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting, financial controlling, or financial management.
• Demonstrated Financial Planning & Analysis experience.
• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and general ledger accounts.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial modeling.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
• Technical & Professional Skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience evaluating financial performance across multiple projects.
• Familiarity with operational cost analysis and financial reporting systems.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accuracy.
• Ability to communicate financial findings and recommendations to management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of accounting or financial management experience.
• Aerospace or advanced manufacturing industry experience.
• Experience supervising, coaching, or developing finance professionals.
• Familiarity with engineering program financial management.

Day to Day Responsibilities

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance across engineering and manufacturing programs.

The position collaborates with finance, engineering, program management, and operations teams to improve profitability, strengthen financial controls, and support strategic business decisions.

• Financial Planning & Reporting
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, management reports, and operating results.
• Manage month-end closing and financial reporting activities.
• Develop annual budgets, medium-term plans, and monthly financial forecasts.
• Monitor revenue, gross margins, operating income, and free cash flow.
• Compare actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Present financial findings and recommendations to management.

Program Financial Management:

• Analyze financial performance across engineering and manufacturing programs.
• Monitor engineering expenditures, capitalized costs, program revenues, and profitability.
• Calculate contract margins, provisions, and program cost estimates.
• Support the preparation and updating of program business plans.
• Review production costs, inventories, and work-in-progress.
• Identify differences between forecasted and actual manufacturing costs.

Engineering & Operational Support:

• Collaborate with engineering, program management, finance, and operations teams.
• Analyze engineering workloads, resource capacity, and project expenditures.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational improvements.
• Evaluate financial risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Support financial analysis for new projects, investments, and business initiatives.
  

Financial Compliance & Controls:

• Ensure compliance with IFRS accounting standards, including IFRS 15.
• Prepare financial reporting using Earned Value Management principles.
• Maintain accurate financial records, accounting documentation, and internal controls.
• Support tax credit preparation, invoicing, and external funding activities.
• Ensure appropriate accounting treatment of capitalized costs, provisions, and work-in-progress.
