The Web Application Developer is a member of the Technology Business Application Support and Development group which supports the company’s critical business management, field operations, and digital interactive customer‑facing systems. This position focuses on developing improvements to our web and mobile application platforms in order to uphold and enhance the digital customer experience. The team provides routine daily support for enterprise‑wide information systems and technology solutions, including our customer self‑service portal and customer mobile application. Responsibilities may change as the needs of the department evolve. Title and level are commensurate with experience. What does a Web Application Developer do? Full support of the Software Development Life Cycle (including analysis, design, configuration, development, documentation, and testing) and support of the company’s critical customer web self‑service portal, customer mobile application, and other web/API related development. Collaborative work with various internal and external teams to develop and deploy modern customer and internal business‑facing applications leveraging best practices. Implementation of design and architecture best practices. Active participation in industry forums and communities to identify areas of opportunity that would further progress the Technology organization’s practices and technology adoption. Continuous search for optimizing and streamlining processes to enable further value‑added efforts. Provide support for storm restoration efforts. Including existing and incremental digital customer capabilities on the web platform. Collaborating with various internal and external team units to develop and deploy modern customer and internal business‑facing applications leveraging best practices. Implementing design and architecture best practices. Actively participating within industry forums and communities to identify areas of opportunity that would further progress the Technology organization’s practices and technology adoption. Continuously seeking to optimize and streamline processes to enable further value‑added efforts. Provides support for storm restoration efforts. What does it take to be a Web Application Developer? Required Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or STEM related field of study. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, candidates with an associate’s degree in the aforementioned fields of study and 3+ years of software development experience or candidates with a high school diploma or equivalency degree and 5+ years of software development experience will be considered. Experience in web application development. Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in C#, ASP.NET MVC, REST API, HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Experience in the design, development, and testing of applications. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to scope/size projects and adapt to a variety of assignments. Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing organizational technology, processes, and priorities. Must be a motivated self‑starter with the ability to learn through hands‑on experience, peer mentoring, and formal training. Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision and work well under pressure to deliver a quality product. Must be able to work off‑hours and weekends when required and be available for scheduled 24/7 callout support. Demonstrated strong problem solving, analytical skills, and strategic thinking ability; proven ability to discern critical from minor problems. Valid driver’s license. Preferred Degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or STEM field; Master’s degree. Demonstrated experienced front‑end web development with VueJS, Bootstrap, SCSS and TypeScript. Experience operating within a DevOps model, using CI/CD pipelines and Agile Development principles. Experience or knowledge of SAP OData Services, SAP S/4HANA and C4C. Experience with EPiServer CMS or other web content management systems. Experience with the development of strategies and implementation of best practices. Experience in Energy & Utilities or services industry.
