With the goal of superior customer service, we strive to treat every person and each situation with dignity, honor, and respect.The Warehouse Unloader (AKA Lumper) is responsible for unloading merchandise in accordance with established safety, procedural, and accuracy standards to meet the warehouse operation goals.Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities1. Select products accurately and properly verify2. Perform required equipment inspection and report any deficiencies to supervisor3. Must follow proper safety procedures4. Receive load assignment from dock supervisor5. Must follow all work instructions and procedures6. Remove product from trailer and break down loads to customer specifications per purchase order7. Must break down loads efficiently, accurately, in a timely manner, with little to no error on loads: loads must be wrapped and lined up by P.O. line number when required8. Responsible for recording loss, damages, shortages, and overages9. Responsible for turning in all packaging slip, recording your name and number of shortages or overages, if any.10. Reports any equipment damages and/or integrity of pallets11. Will train new team members on unloading process12. Must maintain a clean working area13. Make recommendations for more effective operations.Competencies1. Must be able to identify products by size, type, color, or product code.2. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.3. Basic math skills4. Reasoning skills with the ability to understand and execute instructions.5. Must have the ability to work safely in a warehouse environment6. Must have the ability to work in a team environment7. Must maintain certification, if using powered industrial equipment8. Good organizational and time management skills in order to meet goals9. Proficiency in inventory software, databases, and systems or the ability to learnPhysical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. This position frequently requires to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance. Must be physically capable of constantly lifting and/or moving objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Education & Experience1. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent years of experience, preferred2. Previous working experience as a warehouse worker, preferred3. Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods or the ability to learn processes and procedures4. Must maintain certification, if using powered industrial equipmentWork EnvironmentThis position works in a warehouse setting with various temperatures. Warehouse temperatures vary from freezer, refrigerator, climate control to no climate control warehouses as well as some outdoor exposure.
