POSITION: SAFETY & COMPLIANCE COORDINATOR

REPORTS TO: PRESIDENT/CEO

STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

PAY RATE : $65,000 to $85,000 per year

Sign On Bonus: $1000 ($250 after 3 months, $250 after 6 months, and $500 after one year for active employment)

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Safety and Compliance Coordinator works in a dynamic community-based training and employment program which supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities with both onsite and offsite operations. The Safety and Compliance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all safety and compliance to policies and procedures for both onsite and in the field including fleet management. The Safety and Compliance Coordinator ensures all services are in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures along with state licensing, federal and state labor regulations, funding agency requirements, and CARF Standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education :

Associates Degree in a related field is preferred.

Experience :

Minimum two years in Safety and Compliance Management. Excellent oral and written communications skills along with time management, organizational and leadership skills. Must have experience working in the field with a mobile workforce.

Other Qualifications :

Knowledge of employment laws, workers compensation, Safety/Cal Osha Regulations. Basis knowledge of using Google Workspace. Vehicle in safe working condition, valid California driver’s license with a good driving record and proof of insurance

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure daily vehicle and jobsite safety checks are being completed
• Regularly monitor GPS locations at mobile jobsites and compare to schedules
• Ensure staff compliance of company policies and procedures and report any issues
• Ensure safety procedures are being followed
• Complete onsite and worksite formal and informal inspections
• Oversee all agency vehicles which includes regular vehicle inspections and track vehicle maintenance
• Ensure the Equipment Maintenance log is being updated and completed
• Conduct quarterly Safety Committee Meetings
• Assist in orientating and on-going training of staff
• Assist in developing & implementing additional occupational health & safety programs
• Assist with conducting job hazard analysis to determine specific job hazards associated with each function, training requirements for each job function, & determine proper PPE required for each job function.
• Complete periodic training in PPE and ensure compliance with the use of PPE
• Ability to initiate and maintain comprehensive tracking systems to ensure all safety and compliance policies and procedures are being met. Complete all necessary and ongoing paperwork associated with this position
• All other duties as appropriate and as assigned
