JOB DESCRIPTION:
Occupational Therapy is a related service in the educational setting in which the therapist functions as a member of a trans-disciplinary team whose purpose is to provide an appropriate educational program for students with disabilities. The occupational therapist employs goal-directed activities in order to help facilitate the student's physical, sensory, and/or perceptual abilities.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide opportunities for students to participate actively and successfully on individual basis.
2. Coordinate with various campus personnel; i.e., educational diagnosticians, referring teachers, etc.
3. Maximize amount of time available for instruction.
4. Manage student behavior and evaluate student performance.
5. Perform assessment and write progress reports for students receiving occupational therapy.
6. Attend ARD meetings to provide input as needed.
7. Regular attendance
8. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

• Two years experience with on-the-job experience in pediatrics

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:

• Bachelors degree
• Be a graduate of a curriculum in Occupational Therapy approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association
• Be currently registered in the State of Texas by the Texas State Board of Occupational Therapy

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Expertise in the evaluation of students
• Expertise in program planning

SALARY:
Pay Grade AE-4 - Minimum pro-rated salary - $71,780
