Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Freeman Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the only one of its kind in the four-state area, provides specialized care using state-of-the-art technology and years of experience treating premature and critically ill infants. Level III, 24-bed unit equipped to handle critically ill or premature babies. Board-certified neonatologists specializing in care of premature and critically ill babies. Pod nursing for efficiency, patient supervision, and infection control. In honor of the 20th anniversary of Freeman NICU, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, in conjunction with Walmart and Sam’s Club, donated Angel Eye NICU Camera System, a secure web-based camera system that allows parents to remotely see their child via a live feed. A camera mounted to the baby’s bed provides parents 24-hour access to their child, helping ease the pain of separation if parents must return to work or leave the hospital.
What You'll Do
Under the direction/supervision of a nurse, provides basic nursing care needs for assigned patients.
Requirements:
- If a CNA license was held prior to starting nursing program, the employee may be considered for a student assistant program.
- Currently enrolled in RN nursing program and beginning final semester of nursing school.
- Currently enrolled in RN or LPN nursing program and have successfully completed first semester of nursing courses.
- Must successfully pass patient care orientation (PCO) within 30 days of hire.
- AHA BLS for healthcare providers within 30 days.
- NT competency day annually by transcript due date.
