We are currently seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join a specialized clinical team. This position is ideal for an RN looking for a supportive clinical environment that emphasizes excellent nurse-to-patient ratios, robust administrative backing, and a strong culture of teamwork and compassion.Tucked into a scenic Montana community known for an exceptional quality of life and outdoor recreation, this role provides an ideal balance of professional clinical development and personal lifestyle stability.ResponsibilitiesProvide specialized, direct nursing care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients on an advanced medical/surgical and stepdown unit.Manage a broad and diverse patient population, including pre/post-PCI care, pacemaker placements, revascularization, carotid endarterectomy, thoracotomy, CHF, COPD, DKA, sepsis, and a wide scope of complex surgical cases.Utilize skilled assessment and intervention tools to closely monitor for, recognize, and stabilize potentially deteriorating clinical conditions.Operate and manage advanced medical equipment, including arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, multiple titration IV pumps, and short-term ventilatory support.Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams from admission through comprehensive discharge planning.Act as a clinical leader on the floor, assisting with precepting new staff and providing directional support to LPNs, CNAs, and ancillary teams.QualificationsEducation: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred).Licensure: Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Montana (or immediate compact/endorsement eligibility).Certifications: Core certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required (or must be obtained within 6 months of hire).
