Heavy Equipment Operator

General Production WorkerThis role involves safely operating and supporting a variety of industrial equipment used for receiving, storing, transferring, and loading products via trucks and water vessels. The general production worker assists with equipment operation, routine maintenance, and daily inspections while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient worksite.Responsibilities:Safely operate facility equipment used for receiving, storing, transferring, and loading products to and from trucks and water vessels.Train on and operate heavy equipment, including skid steers, loaders, and other material handling equipment, under supervision.Conduct preventive and routine maintenance on operating equipment such as pumps, valves, meters, compressors, motors, tanks, pipes, terminal buildings, and related systems.Perform daily walk-around inspections to identify potential safety risks, equipment issues, or hazards and report findings promptly.Maintain high housekeeping standards by keeping work areas clean, organized, and free of debris at all times.Support general labor tasks as needed, including material handling, basic logistics support, and administrative assistance related to operations.Follow all safety procedures, use required personal protective equipment, and participate in safety-related activities and training.Collaborate with team members and leadership to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of operational tasks.Adapt to changing priorities and assist with other duties as assigned within the facility.Work Environment:This position follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with overtime occasionally required after 4:00 p.m. based on operational needs. The role is based at a port facility and involves working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. The environment includes industrial equipment, heavy machinery, and active loading and unloading operations. The company provides safety vests, hard hats, and gloves, while employees supply their own steel-toe footwear. The work setting emphasizes safety, proper use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to established procedures to ensure a secure and efficient operation.Job Type & Location:This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Savage, MN.Pay and Benefits:The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
