Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a Level 1 trauma facility in Plano, TX, requiring orthopedic, neuro/spine, robotics, plastics, and trauma experience.

Details

• Operating Room unit in a hospital setting with 23 OR suites
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Procedures include neuro/spine, orthopedic trauma/total joint/revisions, robotics (GYN, colorectal, thoracic, urology), plastics, and Level 1 trauma
• Shift: Wednesday–Friday, 11:00 AM–11:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
• Requires 5–6 call shifts per month; call shift options are 11:00 PM–7:00 AM Monday–Thursday or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM Sunday nights
• EMR: Meditech
• No floating required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• Minimum 1 year of recent OR nursing experience
• Required specialty skills: orthopedics, neuro/spine, robotics, plastics, and trauma
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Additional Information

• Level 1 trauma facility
• Department is staffed 24/7 with both 10- and 12-hour shift options
• Night shift team consists of a charge nurse, 2 RNs, 2 CSTs, an anesthesia tech, and an OR assistant
• Scrub color: ceil blue or royal blue for nurses
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
