Volunteer Reader: Ignite a Love of Reading for LA Kids

Make a difference in a child’s life by helping them discover the joy of reading! Reading to Kids hosts fun and engaging monthly reading clubs for elementary school students in underserved Los Angeles communities. Our reading clubs take place on the second Saturday of every month from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 7 schools in the Pico-Union and Westlake areas. As a volunteer, you will: Read aloud to a small group of 4 to 6 students (K to 5th grade) Lead simple discussions and arts & craft activities Help create a positive and encouraging reading experience No teaching experience is required. Sessions are structured and supported by teachers and experienced volunteers. This is a great opportunity if you enjoy working with kids, want to give back, or are looking for a flexible monthly volunteer activity! Volunteers must be 18 or older.
