Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (12-Hour Nights)

Contract | Full-Time | 12-Hour Night Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Emergency Department serving an average of 140–150 patients per day across a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Manage and care for patients presenting with conditions including trauma, GSW, sepsis, STEMI, stroke, DKA, respiratory distress, chest pain, and adult psychiatric emergencies
• Perform cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV insertion and management, procedural sedation, blood administration, and administration of cardiac medications and drips
• Document accurately using Epic EMR ; operate Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Monitor patients via central and bedside telemetry at the nursing station; maintain patient ratios of 1:4 (may flex to 1:5 for lower-acuity patients)
• Participate in every-other-weekend rotation and be available for 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington
• Minimum 1 year of strong Emergency Department experience; first-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI/MOAB
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Traveler Competency Exam and Traveler Telemetry Competency must be completed and passed prior to start date

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Level II Trauma Center or similarly high-acuity emergency environment
• Familiarity with Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Experience caring for psychiatric patients in an ED setting
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with a high daily patient volume
