Machinist – Haas & Mazak CNC

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled Machinist to set up and operate Haas and Mazak CNC mills and lathes. You’ll run multiple machines, perform light programming, and ensure every part meets exact specifications. This is a contract‑to‑hire role with strong long‑term growth potential as our machine room expands.

What You’ll Do

• Set up and operate Haas and Mazak CNC mills and lathes
• Run multiple CNC machines at the same time while maintaining quality
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Perform light programming and edits using Fanuc and Mazatrol controls
• Select and install tooling for drilling, threading, boring, and keyway operations
• Make offsets and adjustments during machining
• Use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools
• Perform basic machine maintenance and keep a clean, organized work area
• Lift and move materials/parts up to 50 lbs
• Support machine room growth and process improvements

What You Bring

• Experience setting up and running Haas CNC machines
• Experience setting up and running Mazak CNC machines
• Ability to operate both CNC mills and CNC lathes
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• CNC setup experience (tooling, offsets, adjustments)
• Familiarity with Fanuc and Mazatrol controls
• Ability to run multiple machines at once
• Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and precision measurement tools
• Experience with drilling, threading, boring, and keyway operations
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Nice to Have

• Light CNC programming experience
• Comfort making basic CNC program edits
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to work independently and stay productive
• Interest in helping build out and improve the machine room

This is a Permanent position based out of Rochester, NY.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Rochester,NY.
