Harris Teeter - TV Commercial - Associates - Charleston - Summer Summary: Managesthe Wine Bar in planning, organizing, and staffing to optimize profit and meetmarketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives by performing thefollowing duties. Essential Duties andResponsibilities include the following;however other duties may be assigned to meet the business needs at times. Assist the department tomaximize gross profit and minimize operating expenses. Have knowledge of the departmentand store sales and profit objectives. Assist customers in theselection and purchase of wine and beer by interacting with customers while in theWine Bar while demonstrating the highest level of customer service. Followthrough on customer requests and special orders. Never be rude to a customer under any circumstance. Maintain conditions of the baras directed by supervision, within the company.These functions include the following: ordering, changing kegs,maintaining stock levels, merchandising skills, proper back-stock amounts,cleanliness, placing promotional and operational signs, ringing up sales, specialrequest inventory/procedures, and rotation. Help manage the check inprocess with Beer & Wine vendors in accordance to company policies andprocedures. These responsibilities mustbe done in accordance with Harris Teeter's policies and applicable laws. Bar and back-stock area wellmanaged; neat, clean, organized, inventory levels within corporate guidelinesand safe from harm or theft. Adhere to the customerservice and merchandising guidelines that are communicated through corporatemerchandising. Have a thorough knowledge ofand comply with all state and local ABC laws and regulations. Follow all health and safetyregulations and help keep the store free of dangerous situations. Immediatelyinform store management of all accidents and/or safety hazards. Meetwith Vendors to order kegs for bar Createdaily keg line up Tracksales of beer and wine served at bar - glasses, bottles, cans, and draft Workwith Wine Consultant to discuss wines to be poured at bar, such as promotionalwines, preferred style of wine based on customer reviews, special pricing,excess stock. Interviewand train new staff Schedulestaff for bar. Work with non-perishableCo-Manager to assist in coverage for bar, as needed. Create,plan and manage special events: Oktoberfest, St. Patrick's Day, Black Friday,Tap Takeovers, meet/greet breweries, etc. Workwith vendors to create promotional posters and secure promo items for events Workwith Meat Manager & Fresh Foods Manager for special events, crosspromotional opportunities and wine/beer & food pairings Planand execute daily bar events; trivia etc. Keepmanagement updated on operational or customer issues that arise during barhours Ordersupplies, for example : Co2, Argon, Nitrogen, make your own 6 packs, dishdetergent & wine glasses Workwith craft beer representatives to maintain clean draft lines. The representatives are to clean the draftlines bi-weekly Workwith vendors to keep a sufficient amount of beer glasses, coasters etc. for bar WineConsultant and Bar Lead cross train so they may cover each other’s job duties Maintaina clean and safe working environment Knowledgeableof state liquor laws Understandhow to assist a customer who may have had too much to drink Assistcustomers with special orders. Work withvendors to assist in fulfilling special orders.
