Sr. Director / Director Collective Investment Fund Operation (Hybrid Phoenix or Denver)

SOMERSET STAFFING

Job Description:

Industry: Financial Services

Job Category: Finance / Accounting - Investment Management

Broadridge is hiring! We are seeking a Director or Senior Director , Collective Investment Fund Operations to help shape the next stage of our Collective Investment Trust / Collective Investment Fund (CIT/CIF) platform. The position may be filled at either level based on the selected candidate s experience and capabilities.

In this role, you ll own the operational foundation that enables pooled retirement and institutional investment vehicles to operate accurately, efficiently, and with strong controls. You ll combine investment operations expertise with a forward-looking approach to strengthening processes and building an operating model that supports a growing platform.

This is an opportunity to move beyond managing daily execution and influence how the business operates, connecting reliable fund administration, strong service-provider relationships, and meaningful operational improvements to client confidence and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own operational performance across the CIT/CIF platform. Lead end-to-end fund operations, bringing together NAV support, fund accounting oversight, capital activity, and trading and settlement into a reliable, well-controlled operating model.

  • Help shape business growth into operational readiness by leading the operational onboarding of new clients, funds, sub-advisors, and platforms; coordinating requirements such as CUSIP requests, NSCC trading setup, and platform agreements to support smooth launches.

  • Build accountable service-provider partnerships through the management of relationships with custodians, transfer agents, fund accountants, trustees, and sub-advisors, setting clear service expectations and addressing issues that affect execution or client experience.

  • Form a more scalable way of working with the identification of opportunities to simplify workflows, strengthen controls, and introduce automation that improves efficiency while preserving accuracy and oversight.

  • Bring sound judgment to complex challenges. Serve as a senior escalation point for clients, prospects, and sub-advisors, guiding issues toward resolution and using what you learn to prevent recurring problems.

  • Strengthen confidence in fund information and oversight. Oversee validation of performance returns, expense ratios, and turnover calculations, and support annual audits, financial statements, and Form 5500-related reporting.

  • Embed risk awareness into the operating model by ensuring operational practices align with applicable regulatory, fiduciary, and governance requirements, including ERISA, DOL, IRS, and internal committee standards.

Qualifications

  • 8-10+ years of experience in fund accounting, investment fund operations, asset management, or trust administration, including direct experience with Collective Investment Trusts / Collective Investment Funds.

  • Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.

  • Deep knowledge of fund accounting principles, pooled vehicle operations, NAV support, and CIT/CIF operating models.

  • Experience supporting audits, financial statements, transfer agency operations, onboarding, and trade settlement processes.

  • Strong knowledge of ERISA-related operational requirements and familiarity with DOL, IRS, and fiduciary governance frameworks.

  • Advanced Excel skills required.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MFACT preferred.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Access preferred.

  • Professional designation such as CFA, CAIA, CPA, or advanced degree preferred.

  • Experience supporting product launches, new fund structures, or retirement-focused investment vehicles, including alternative strategies.

Screening Questions
Walk me through your involvement in the daily fund-accounting and NAV process. What controls did you own or oversee, and how did you handle an exception or valuation issue?
Tell me about a fund, client, sub-advisor, or trading-platform onboarding you led. What teams and external providers were involved, and what were the key implementation steps?
What experience do you have with retirement-plan and fiduciary requirements, including ERISA, audits, financial statements, Form 5500-related reporting, and trustee or committee governance?

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced fund operations leader with 8 10+ years in fund accounting, investment operations, or trust administration, ideally including direct Collective Investment Trust/Collective Investment Fund (CIT/CIF) experience. They bring deep expertise in NAV oversight, fund accounting, trading, settlement, reconciliation, and operational controls, along with a proven ability to lead teams and manage custodians, trustees, fund accountants, transfer agents, and sub-advisors. They understand retirement-plan operations and ERISA requirements, have supported fund onboarding, audits, and financial reporting, and can strengthen processes and introduce automation as the platform grows. MFACT experience is a strong differentiator, and a strong mutual-fund operations background may offer relevant transferable experience. This person must be able to work on-site two days per week in either the Denver or Phoenix office and bring the leadership and judgment needed to succeed at the Director or Senior Director level.

Why we're a great company

Broadridge offers the opportunity to do meaningful work at the intersection of financial services and technology, helping support the infrastructure that investors and institutions rely on. For someone considering this role, the appeal is the chance to make a visible impact: shaping a growing CIT/CIF platform, strengthening operations, and working with partners across the investment ecosystem. It s an opportunity for a leader who enjoys solving complex problems and wants to influence how a business grows not simply manage its day-to-day operations.
