The position is now available to be filled by internal candidates that are not members of the ratified Bargaining Unit or External candidates to Sharp.What You Will Do The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) is a professional caregiver who performs cardiopulmonary diagnostics, therapeutics and monitors within his/her scope of practice per TCMC physician approved policies, procedures and protocols. This position maintains professional standards of conduct and ethics as outlined in hospital and department expectations and professional organizations. The employee provides education to patients, families, caregivers and other health professionals. The RCP demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to patients'/caregivers' rights, as identified within the institution. Pulmonary Function Technologists may complete the same duties as RCPs and provide additional specialized testing of patients (PFTs). The RCP follows/adheres to guidelines of care.Required QualificationsOther Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Care.2 Years experience in acute care in respiratory therapyExperience in Bronchoscopy.California Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP) - Respiratory Care Board of CA -REQUIREDAHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIREDACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association -REQUIREDPreferred QualificationsPulmonary Rehabilitation experience.Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association -PREFERREDOther Qualification RequirementsRegistered Respiratory Therapist, required. May accept CRT in lieu of RRT if obtained prior to 7/1/02. Current NRP certification, required. Ensures accurate charging for therapies provided (all levels). General floor care, autonomous with adult critical intensive care. NICU critical intensive care RCP (NICU position only). Performs pulmonary function testing (PFT position only).
