Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nurse Specialty: Staff Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 6 months to 3 years License: Current NYS RN License Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: - Nursing (RN) experience of six (6) months to three (3) years - Communication (verbal & written) - Collaboration - Judgement/Critical Thinking - Organizational Understanding - Problem Solving - Quality - Reliability - Safety and Risk Management Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. The RN is responsible for the prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering. This role includes the diagnosis and treatment of human responses, and advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, delegating, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. This involves managing a group of patients and serving as a primary nurse, when designated. Patient and family education in health promotion and disease management is a key responsibility. The RN utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology, administering medications safely. The role includes shared responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization. The RN complies with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and policies. Active participation in improvement initiatives and peer review practices is expected. The RN engages in professional development and completes all mandatory education requirements. Integration of nursing research and current evidence into practice is essential. Providing a supportive learning environment for new employees and students is encouraged. The RN will follow all organizational values. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
