Application Tester

Job Description Leidos is seeking a highly motivated and focused individual to join the Test team on a high‑profile, fast‑paced and dynamic project. Candidates must possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph Security Clearance to be considered. Primary Responsibilities Test all aspects of the system including Java and web‑based front end running on Windows clients, Linux servers, and cloud technologies to ensure all components work on a variety of hardware ranging from workstations, mobile devices, to high‑end servers. Build and configure workstations and/or servers independently or with minimal guidance to create test environments that mirror multiple installed baselines. Develop and execute tests for ad hoc situations such as replicating field‑reported problems or load testing under specific conditions. Communicate and engage with the test and development teams and the Release Manager to support test‑driven development principles and priorities. Provide support and knowledge to ensure the team has a full understanding of relevant principles, enabling development to move swiftly and smoothly. Basic Qualifications BS degree with at least 12 years of prior relevant experience or MS with at least 10 years of prior relevant experience. A Doctorate in a technical domain is advantageous. Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph. Experience with manual testing of web‑based applications (e.g., Java, J2EE, JSP, EJBs, Web Services). Ability to work effectively in a team and independently with only high‑level goals. Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to explain technical procedures and results to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Experience detecting, tracking, reporting, and communicating test defects effectively. Professional, expeditious execution of duties and openness to ad‑hoc tasking to support team members. Desired Skills Experience with JIRA, agile development methodologies, and test‑driven development. Test automation experience. Scripting experience. Ability to juggle competing priorities. Experience testing on macOS. Travel Requirements Some travel between locations is required for hands‑on work where hardware resides.
