General Summary of Position Clinical Decision Unit (4 East) The Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, a 16-bed unit dedicated to providing high-quality care for observation patients with multiple comorbidities. Our team plays a critical role in decompressing the Emergency Department (ED) and improving hospital throughput by focusing on the admitting diagnosis and reducing the length of stay. Fast-paced, team-oriented environment with 24/7 operations. Collaborative care model led by hospitalists and a unit-based nurse practitioner. Rotating self-schedule with 50% days and 50% nights. Key Responsibilities As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. You will identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and critically analyze trends and changes in patient status and plan appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses. Qualifications ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required. Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.
