Position Summary

Mongiovi & Son is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Outside Sales Representative to generate new business and expand relationships with existing customers across our Fire Protection, Plumbing, and Excavation service divisions.

This is a field-based sales position focused on developing relationships with commercial property owners, property managers, facility managers, general contractors, businesses, and other potential customers throughout our service area.

The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying opportunities and selling our recurring and on-demand services, including fire protection inspections, testing and maintenance, system repairs, plumbing service and preventative maintenance, and excavation/site services.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys building relationships, prospecting for new business, and developing long-term customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop new commercial business for Mongiovi & Son's Fire Protection, Plumbing, and Excavation service divisions
• Prospect and identify new customers through cold calling, networking, referrals, jobsite visits, in-person meetings, and other business development activities
• Build relationships with property managers, facility managers, building owners, general contractors, and other key decision-makers
• Sell recurring fire protection inspection, testing, and maintenance services, including sprinkler, fire alarm, fire extinguisher, and suppression services
• Generate opportunities for fire protection repairs, system upgrades, deficiencies, and other service work
• Promote commercial plumbing service, repairs, preventative maintenance, and ongoing service agreements
• Identify opportunities for excavation, sitework, underground utility, and related services
• Conduct customer visits and site walk-throughs to understand customer needs and identify service opportunities
• Prepare and present proposals, estimates, and service agreements in coordination with division managers and estimating teams
• Follow up on proposals and open opportunities to drive sales through completion
• Maintain consistent communication with prospects and existing customers
• Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, proposals, and follow-up activities
• Work closely with service managers, operations, estimating, and field teams to ensure a smooth transition from sale to service
• Identify opportunities to cross-sell services between Mongiovi & Son's different divisions
• Represent Mongiovi & Son professionally at customer meetings, networking events, trade organizations, and industry events
• Meet established sales and business development goals

Qualifications

• Previous outside sales, business development, account management, or commercial service sales experience preferred
• Experience in fire protection, plumbing, mechanical services, construction, facilities management, property management, or another commercial service industry is strongly preferred
• Experience selling recurring inspection, maintenance, or service agreements is a plus
• Strong prospecting and relationship-building skills
• Comfortable making cold calls and approaching prospective customers
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, field personnel, managers, and executives
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Ability to manage multiple prospects and opportunities at various stages of the sales process
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in the field
• Basic computer skills and ability to maintain customer and sales activity records
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
