Overview
Speech Language Pathologist – Acute Care in Bakersfield, California. This travel, temporary-assignment position starts on 08/03/2026 and runs for 13 weeks. The role offers a weekly pay range of $2,340 to $2,487 and a 40-hour work week (5x8 days). The assignment occurs in a hospital-based acute care setting. Responsibilities
- Provide diagnostic, therapeutic and consultative services to patients with communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders.
- Adhere to state and federal licensure, certification and accreditation requirement guidelines.
- Serve as an integral member of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans; document progress; discharge planning as appropriate.
- Conduct screenings and evaluations to determine treatment needs; monitor progress and adjust therapy as needed.
- Educate patients and families about communication strategies, alternative and augmentative communication options, and swallowing therapy.

Requirements
- Active California state license to practice speech-language pathology.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Experience in an acute care or hospital-based setting preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary care team.
- Ability to work in a hospital-based acute care setting and comply with applicable licensing and credentialing requirements.
