Staff Accountant

A company is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join the finance team in Santa Barbara, California. This role is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Based on general knowledge.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger adjustments.Assist with month-end and year-end close processes. Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed. Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation for internal stakeholders and external auditors. Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions. Help ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable accounting regulations. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, payroll, and leadership teams.
