Sales Associate

Overview Part‑time Sales Associate – responsible for delivering outstanding customer service while driving strong sales and maintaining a well‑organized store. Position Type: Hourly, Starting At: $17.28. Responsibilities Greet and assist customers promptly, handling multiple customers efficiently. Understand and meet customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing them to merchandise, and offering recommendations. Engage in suggestive selling and stay informed on product availability. Promote store events, promotions, and special activities to enhance the shopping experience and drive sales. Resolve customer concerns, using product knowledge to offer alternative solutions and turning returns into exchanges when possible. Communicate merchandise restocking, service requirements, and customer feedback to management in a timely manner. Collaborate with the team to achieve overall store and company objectives, contributing to a positive and productive work environment. Qualifications Minimum age 16 years. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including day, evening, weekends, overnight shifts, and travel as required. Comfortable with or willing to learn technology such as cash registers, hand‑held and mobile devices. Good communicator with the ability to engage with customers and handle interactions courteously and professionally. Basic information‑gathering skills to solve problems. Ability to learn procedural knowledge through on‑the‑job training. Essential Job Functions Frequently operate the cash register. Move merchandise weighing up to 25lbs and placing/removing merchandise up to a height of 5‑10feet. Frequently ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock. Position self to kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor. Communicate accurately with customers and coworkers, via telephone and face‑to‑face. Assist customers across the sales floor and to and from the stock room. Work a flexible schedule that may include overnight shifts and travel. Interpret email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and SOPs. Remain in a stationary, upright position for at least 80% of the time.
