Expressive Therapist (PRN)

Responsibilities PRN Shifts The Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) provides recreation therapy program oversight, including performance management and staff development of expressive therapy services. Responsible for assessing patients leisure and recreational activities, providing age and developmentally appropriate therapy groups and establishing behavioral treatment goals in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Cedar Ridge. Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital (a UHS facility) Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital provides inpatient and residential treatment services for youth ages 5-17, as well as inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services for adults ages 18+. Our treatment programs provide a structured and supportive treatment environment that promotes self-acceptance and helps stabilize patients suffering from acute psychiatric illness. Our multidisciplinary treatment teams consist of psychiatrists, licensed therapists and highly specialized nurses who collaborate to develop and implement effective and compassionate treatment plans for our patients. Cedar Ridge is a behavioral health facility that encompasses a 206-bed acute psychiatric hospital and residential treatment center on a beautifully wooded campus with a stocked pond, school, gym, outdoor courtyard and playground. Website: Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related recreation therapy field required Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification required One (1) to Three (3) years of experience in recreation therapy field working with a mental health population preferred with working knowledge of group leadership skills, age specific growth and development, crisis and behavior management. Must be at least 21 years of age Successfully complete a drug test Successfully pass a national background check Physical agility to manage patients Ability to push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds.
