Important Schedule & Travel Requirements

This is a mobile Medical Assistant role within Lee Convenient Care . The position will be primarily based at Bonita Health Center , but you will travel to other Lee Convenient Care locations as needed to provide coverage.

You must be comfortable traveling between the listed locations as part of the role.

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Shifts may be scheduled within the operating hours of 6:45 AM7:00 PM
• Every other Saturday and Sunday
• Holiday coverage is required
• Schedule and location may vary based on operational and coverage needs
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between locations are required

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following minimum qualification pathways:

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program within the last 2 years with no prior Medical Assistant experience required, OR
• Active Medical Assistant certification through one of the following:
  • CMA (AAMA)
  • CCMA (NHA)
  • RMA (AMT)
  • Equivalent nationally recognized Medical Assistant credential, as applicable
• At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience within the last 4 years

Certification is preferred for candidates who qualify through completion of a Medical Assistant program.

This position requires travel between Lee Convenient Care locations, four 10-hour shifts, every other Saturday and Sunday, and holiday coverage. Please ensure you are comfortable with all schedule and travel requirements before applying.

The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing an excellent customer experience in a team based environment while assisting in all aspects of medical practice under the direct supervision and responsibility of a physician or physician assistant. This position is responsible for patient safety, performing phlebotomy, point of care testing, assisting in minor procedures, processing lab specimens, safe operation of medical equipment, provides patient instructions, and for handling and administering medications according to regulatory standards and organizational policy and procedure under the direct supervision of a physician or physician assistant. This position is responsible for the collection, communication and documentation of accurate patient information/data and maintaining medical records according to regulatory standards and organizational policies and procedures. Other responsibilities include coordinating requests for information and prescriptions, maintain and preparing patient care areas to ensure efficient, effective and safe patient care delivery. Late hours, holidays and weekends may be required. Other duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor of the department.

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or GED Required. Completion of a medical assisting program or accredited post- secondary medical assisting program that prepares the Medical Assistant to take the national CMA (American Association of Medical Assistants), CCMA (National Healthcareer Association), or RMA (American Medical Technologists) exam is preferred.

Experience: Medical Assistant experience preferred but not required for graduates who have completed an accredited medical assisting program within the past two years. One year of recent clinical experience (within the last four years) in a physicians office or hospital outpatient department may be accepted in lieu of a degree, diploma or certificate from an accredited medical assisting program.

Certification: CMA (American Association of Medical Assisting), CCMA (National Health career Association), RMA (American Medical Technologists) preferred. BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support) required and must be obtained within first 90 days of hire.

License: Not Required

Other: Medical terminology, communication skills and basic knowledge of computers required. Early/late hours and/or weekends may be required.
