Position Summary Mental Health Practitioners (MHPs) provide community-based mental health services to children, adults, and families experiencing mental health concerns. Working under the supervision of a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), MHPs help clients develop the skills needed to improve daily functioning, increase independence, and achieve their treatment goals. This position offers flexible scheduling, supportive supervision, and the opportunity to work in a collaborative, client-centered environment. What You'll Do Provide mental health skills services to children, adults, and families in individual, family, and group settings. Build supportive, therapeutic relationships that promote client growth and recovery. Utilize culturally responsive and evidence-based strategies to address client needs. Meet established productivity and weekly billable service expectations. Complete clinical documentation that meets agency quality and timeliness standards. Coordinate care with families, schools, healthcare providers, and community partners. Participate in supervision, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development. Complete 30 hours of mental health-related continuing education every two years. Uphold Fernbrook Family Center's mission, values, and professional standards. Follow all agency policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Ethical and committed to providing high-quality client care. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must meet one of the following: Current Minnesota Statute requirements for a Mental Health Practitioner, or Current Minnesota Statute requirements for a Clinical Trainee. Additional Requirements Include Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Reliable transportation and current automobile insurance for community-based services. Ability to successfully complete a criminal background study in accordance with Department of Human Services and agency requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with children, adults, and families. Bilingual or multilingual skills. Schedule & Work Environment Flexible work hours, generally between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Travel throughout the community to client homes, schools, Fernbrook offices, and other service locations. Salaried employees typically work 40–43 hours per week, depending on client needs. Hourly employees may work up to 40 hours per week; overtime requires prior supervisor approval. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, observe, listen, and work on a computer for extended periods. Occasionally lift up to 15 pounds. Why Join Fernbrook?
