We are seeking Civilian Pain Management Physicians to join our team at a military medical facility located at Nellis Air Force Base, NV.

Educational Qualifications

Applicants must possess a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline, such as a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.). For those with a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree, it must be from a program accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE). If the degree originates from a foreign chiropractic institution, it should be substantially equivalent to accredited U.S. programs, as evidenced by successful completion of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) Parts I, II, III, and IV examinations. M.D. and D.O. candidates must have graduated from a medical school accredited by recognized bodies in the U.S. or Canada. Degrees from foreign medical schools must demonstrate equivalency through permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or the Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX).

Residency and Fellowship

M.D. and D.O. candidates are required to have completed a residency in Family Medicine, Anesthesiology, Neurology, or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). This residency must encompass comprehensive training across various medical fields, including internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, geriatrics, and preventive medicine, ensuring the physician is equipped to care for patients of all ages. The first year of residency, often termed the internship year, should include supervised clinical exposure to multiple medical specialties. Note that these internship and residency prerequisites do not apply to D.C. candidates.

Professional Experience

Candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years of full-time clinical experience in their specialty within the past five years. This experience should include at least two (2) years of documented clinical practice utilizing integrative medicine modalities for which they are trained or certified. M.D. and D.O. candidates must also demonstrate proficiency in myofascial techniques and other integrative therapies, including trigger point injections and acupuncture.

Certifications

Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS, along with documented training from the National Foundation for Integrative Medicine (NFIM) or a similar accredited organization in therapies such as acupuncture, myofascial release techniques, shockwave therapy, or other comparable non-pharmacological treatments for M.D. and D.O. candidates.

Board Certification

Board certification is mandatory for M.D. and D.O. candidates from an appropriate American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) board. Candidates should be board-certified specialists in anesthesiology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, or neurology, with fellowship training in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of acute and chronic pain, including interventional procedures like nerve blocks, injections, and implants.

Licensure

Applicants must hold a current, full, active, and unrestricted medical license to practice in Nevada.

Working Hours

The standard working hours for this position are from 0730 to 1630.
