Summary:
The Recreation Assistant supports individuals in community and recreational settings by helping lead activities that build life skills, social skills, and independence in a fun and engaging environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with recreational activities, outings, and events

• Support participant engagement and safety

• Set up and clean activity spaces and equipment

• Complete basic documentation and reports

• Help with outreach and community events

• Follow agency policies and maintain confidentiality

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED preferred

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Creative, energetic, and dependable

• Valid NYS Driver’s License required

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus

Job Requirements:

• Travel throughout the tristate area may be required

• Active role involving walking, outings, and recreational activities

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Hourly position with shifts ranging from 2–8 hours
