JOB DESCRIPTION FOX News Live is looking for a talented Freelance Production Assistant to join our Washington, DC team on weekends. In this role, you'll play a key part in bringing live news coverage to air by cutting and editing video and selecting soundbites for air. You will work closely with producers, writers, and editors in a fast-paced control room environment where speed, accuracy, and attention to detail are critical. - Cut and edit video, soundbites, and other visual elements for live broadcasts
- Collaborate with line producers and writers to identify the strongest elements
- Edit and turn around breaking news video quickly
- Work closely with editors to ensure all elements are organized and delivered on deadline
- Perform thorough quality control on every video element before it airs
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience
- Experience in television news or live production
- Experience with non-linear editing software
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven newsroom
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Passion for current events and breaking news
- Flexibility to work weekends and other hours as news coverage requires
