Job Title: Youth & Family Director (Full-Time) at Speer YMCA

Description:  The YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg is seeking an experienced, energetic Youth & Family Director to lead youth and family programs at our flagship Speer YMCA. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role with significant responsibility for our high-volume Kids Zone operation, including the recruitment, scheduling, training and supervision of approximately 50 employees. The Director also leads and grows youth and family programming and works across departments to create an exceptional experience for children and families.

Duties:

• Lead all aspects of Kids Zone operations, including recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, coaching and performance management.
• Ensure appropriate staffing, consistent operations and a safe, welcoming environment for children and families.
• Plan, administer and evaluate youth and family programs, including Parents' Night Out, family events, birthday parties and other activities.
• Develop strategies to grow participation and introduce new programs based on the needs and interests of families.
• Maintain a visible, hands-on presence and respond effectively to staffing, operational and parent/member needs.
• Use participation trends, family feedback and performance measures to evaluate programs and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop and monitor department budgets, staffing expenses and program performance to meet financial objectives.
• Build collaborative relationships across YMCA departments and with community organizations.
• Serve as a member of the Speer leadership team and support Association initiatives, fundraising and special events.
• Ensure compliance with YMCA child safety, abuse prevention and risk-management requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum two years of experience in youth programming and staff leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and develop a large team, preferably including a significant part-time workforce.
• Experience with complex staff scheduling, hiring, performance management and budgets.
• Childcare, child development or camp experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• A collaborative, accountable leadership style and commitment to providing an exceptional experience for children and families.
• Pass a 10-panel urinalysis drug screen
• Clear a Level 2 background check*

Pay & Perks: Salary Range: $52,000–$58,000 (commensurate with experience), Health, dental, vision, and life insurance. Facility usage for you and your household family members. Free before and after-school child care. Generous paid time off and YMCA-paid retirement (upon eligibility).
