Aide, Dietary Support | Food Service Assistant

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, where your role as a Dietary Support Aide is vital to patient satisfaction and care. This position involves maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of patient and cafeteria trays, utensils, and dishware, as well as assisting with food transport and minor food preparation tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, sanitize, and air dry dishes, pots, and pans according to assigned duties.
• Deliver patient meals promptly to ensure timely service and satisfaction.
• Assemble patient trays following the prescribed menu.
• Complete temperature and cleaning logs to maintain proper sanitation standards.
• Keep work areas and equipment clean, organized, and safe.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Experience

Up to 3 months of food service experience preferred but can be acquired through on-the-job training.

Requirements

• Mental ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform basic math.
• Physical stamina for long periods of standing and walking.
• Ability to read, write, and understand policies and procedures.
• Capability to lift up to 40 pounds during shifts.

Working Conditions

Exposure to kitchen heat, noise, wet floors, hot steam, water, chemicals, glass breakage, and sharp knives. May come into contact with patients.
