The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients. Job Summary Our client is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide value-based care in a primary care setting for the senior population. The role is focused on building strong relationships with patients by allotting 45 minutes for each appointment, working primarily alongside a doctor. Key Responsibilities Conduct patient intake, including measuring and recording vital signs, patient interviews, and medical histories. Perform examinations, routine screenings, and phlebotomy. Critically engage with patients and report findings to the primary care provider (PCP). Process patient phone messages, return calls, and relay information to patients and physicians. Change patient dressings, apply bandages, and perform other first-aid procedures. Provide health coaching and support CPR when necessary. Room members, take vitals, perform EKGs, and administer injections. Assist with administrative tasks and quality measures, including performing screenings such as diabetic retinopathy screenings and PHQ-9 depression screenings. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. BLS for healthcare providers required. 1 year of Medical Assistant experience preferred. 6+ months of phlebotomy experience is highly desired. Experience working with the elderly patient population preferred. Value-Based Care experience is a plus. Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and EClinicalWorks or similar EMR experience. Comfortable with phlebotomy; knowledge of additional lab procedures is a plus. Ability to work with diverse populations, including staff, providers, members, and family members. Adaptability, teamwork, readiness to learn new methods, and punctuality are essential soft skills. Paid Sick Leave (Medix provides paid sick leave according to state and local sick leave ordinances).
