Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Hematology/Oncology Infusions

Unit Description The Infusion nurse in Ambulatory Oncology serves as a pivotal member of the patients' multidisciplinary team, coordinating care across the continuum. Key aspects of this role include triage of acute illness, ongoing patient assessment and evaluation of response to illness and care, and the provision of comprehensive patient education. The Ambulatory RN provides advanced professional nursing care to patients in varying states of health and illness through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient's health needs. The Ambulatory RN II provides direct care to patients and families, as well as teaching and preparation for continuing care. Organizational Standards of Patient Care and Nursing Practice guide the delivery of nursing services by this individual. The position demonstrates dedication to professional growth and development and to the continuous improvement of patient care. Experience 1 year experience in relevant clinical area and/or independent in all areas of the Ambulatory RN I accountabilities. On-Call Not required Incentives This is a part time (40 hour per bi-weekly pay period) position in the Cancer Center infusion area. Hours are negotiable: 9 hr, 10 hr, and 12 hr shifts. Requirements Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required. ADN required, BSN preferred. Appropriate experience in specific clinical area. Varies by unit.
