At WOSC, you'll find a place where people care—for our patients and for each other.Job DutiesOversee daily operations for the endoscopy department alongside the nurse managerReview the daily procedure schedule and coordinate room assignments, staffing, and equipment needsFacilitate efficient patient flow through preoperative, procedural, and recovery areas.Coordinate with gastroenterologists, anesthesia providers, nursing staff, and other departments to minimize delaysMonitor procedure start times, room turnover, and schedule changesAddress operational challenges, including delays, cancellations, staffing shortages, and equipment issuesCoordinate add-on procedures and schedule adjustments as appropriateEnsure procedure rooms are prepared and appropriately stocked before the start of each dayServe as the primary clinical resource for endoscopy nurses, technicians, and support staffAssign daily responsibilities based on staffing levels, patient acuity, and procedural requirementsProvide clinical guidance and assistance with complex patient care situationsSupport orientation, training, and competency validation for new and existing staffMonitor staff adherence to departmental/facility policies, procedures, and safety standardsEnsure staff follow physician orders and approved clinical protocolsAddress immediate staff concerns and escalate performance or employee relations issues to the Endoscopy Manager or Director of Nursing (DON)Promote teamwork, accountability, and effective communicationAssist with staff breaks and coverage to maintain safe patient careEnsure compliance with patient identification, informed consent verification, procedural time-outs, and other safety protocolsMonitor adherence to infection prevention and control practicesEnsure appropriate patient assessments, monitoring, documentation, and discharge processesOversee compliance with moderate sedation policies, when applicableRespond to patient safety concerns, clinical emergencies, and changes in patient conditionEnsure emergency equipment, medications, and supplies are available and operationalAssist with incident reporting, follow-up, and corrective actionsParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety reviewsThe Charge Nurse provides operational oversight of reprocessing but does not necessarily perform all reprocessing duties or replace the designated infection prevention professionalMonitor completeness and accuracy of nursing documentationSupport compliance with CMS Conditions for Coverage, California requirements, and applicable accreditation standards, such as AAAHC; assist with survey readiness and corrective action plansEnsure required departmental logs, checklists, and quality control records are maintainedParticipate in departmental audits and follow-up on identified deficienciesRequired Education and License/CertificationAssociates level degree from an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor's level preferredActive RN California LicenseCurrent AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS RequiredQualifications and Skills2 years Endoscopy experience required; 3-5 years preferredPrevious leadership/supervisor experience requiredASC experience preferredStrong ethical and moral character referencesAbility to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians and with their office personnel, coworkers, and other healthcare facilities in a positive, respectful, and considerate mannerAbility to promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients, and general publicAbility to make decisions and solve problemsLanguage skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal, and telephone communication in American EnglishElectronic Medical Record experience; EPIC experience preferredBenefits/PerksBlue Shield Health Insurance (employer paid or buy-up)Dental & Vision (employer paid)Life & Long-term Disability (employer paid)Accrued vacation time, sick time, education time, etc.401k with profit sharingSchedule: M-F 8hr Variable Shifts
