About the RoleCity eWaste LLC is looking for a dependable full-time Driver to join our Franklin, TN team. In this role you will pick up electronic waste and recyclable materials from businesses, schools, and community drop-off events, transport them safely back to our facility, and help process what comes through the door. Driving is the core of the job, but there is regular down time between routes, and during those hours you will work alongside our warehouse crew sorting, staging, and breaking down incoming materials. If you like variety in your day, take pride in working safely, and want your work to keep usable materials out of landfills, this is a great fit.Driving ResponsibilitiesRun daily pickup and delivery routes for electronic waste and recyclable materials throughout Franklin and the surrounding Middle Tennessee areaLoad, secure, and unload items such as computers, monitors, printers, servers, batteries, and small appliances using proper lifting technique and equipmentComplete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptlyMaintain accurate pickup manifests, weight tickets, chain-of-custody paperwork, and mileage logsRepresent City eWaste professionally at customer sites and answer basic questions about what we accept and how material is handledPlan efficient routes, communicate with dispatch about delays, and keep the truck cab and cargo area clean and organizedFollow all DOT, company, and site-specific safety rules, including handling requirements for batteries and other regulated itemsWarehouse and Sorting ResponsibilitiesThis is not a drive-only position. When you are not on the road, you will be on the floor with the rest of the team, and a meaningful share of a typical week is spent in the warehouse.Sort incoming electronics and materials by type, grade, and commodity into the correct bins, pallets, and gaylordsDisassemble and separate components such as metals, plastics, circuit boards, cables, and batteries for downstream recyclingTest, wipe, and stage reusable equipment for resale or donation according to our data-security proceduresWeigh, label, shrink-wrap, and stage outbound pallets for shipmentKeep the sorting area, dock, and yard clean, organized, and free of hazardsHelp with inventory counts and flag anything unusual, damaged, or potentially hazardous to a supervisorRequirementsHigh school diploma or GEDValid driver's license with a clean driving record; must pass a motor vehicle record checkAt least one year of commercial, box truck, or delivery driving experience21 years of age or older for insurance purposesAble to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and up to 75 lbs with assistance, and to bend, stand, and walk for most of the shiftComfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, noise, and dustAbility to read route sheets and complete written or tablet-based logs accuratelyMust pass a pre-employment background check and drug screenReliable attendance and on-time arrival for scheduled routesDesired SkillsExperience in recycling, waste hauling, scrap, moving, or warehouse operationsCDL Class B or a current DOT medical card, or willingness to obtain oneForklift or pallet jack experience, or willingness to become certifiedBasic familiarity with computers, IT hardware, or consumer electronicsComfort using a smartphone or tablet for routing, e-signatures, and manifestsFriendly, customer-facing communication style and a professional appearanceSelf-starter who finds useful work during slow periods rather than waiting to be toldBilingual English/Spanish is a plusSchedule and Work EnvironmentFull-time, Monday through Friday, typically 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional Saturday collection eventsBased out of our Franklin, TN facility; local routes with no overnight travelSplit between time on the road and time in the warehouse, depending on daily route volumePersonal protective equipment, gloves, and safety training providedWhy Join City eWasteWe are a small, hands-on team keeping electronics out of landfills and getting valuable materials back into circulation.
