Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
• Assist dentists during various procedures such as cleanings, restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology like 3D scanners while maintaining proper radiation safety standards.
• Manage patient records efficiently using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems Open Dental ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical coding accurately during procedures.
• Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging when necessary to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
• Familiarity with EMR systems like Open Dental, Eagle soft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
• Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry.
• Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding related to dental procedures.
• Experience is preferred.
• Certification in dental assisting or equivalent training; additional certifications in endodontics or prosthodontics are a plus.
